Squid Sukka

This is an all time favourite for me. Its an adaptation of my mum's chicken sukka recipe. It's simple yet super delicious. So this is how to make it.

You will need
Half  a kilo squid, cleaned and cut into rings
Red chillies 12 (You can add more if you want the dish spicy)
Corriander seeds 1 tbsp
Jeera 1/4 tsp
Methi seeds 1/4 tsp
Grated Coconut  3/4 cup
Onion   2
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Tamarind 1 marble sized ball
Garlic flakes 3
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
This is how you make it :
In a pressure cooker, boil the cleaned and cut squid, with half cup water and salt. Turn off the stove after 2 whistles. Keep aside.
Roast the red chillies, corriander seeds , jeera, methi and one onion separately in a little ghee. Grind to a fine paste. To this add the turmeric powder, tamarind and garlic and grind again till fine.
When you are able to open the pressure cooker, add the masala to the squid and mix well. Put in back on the stove and cook for 5 to 7 mins. Then add the masala water and curry leaves. Check salt. Lastly add the coconut. Fry one sliced onion in ghee and garnish the dish with the same.
