So here’s something that’s more of an idea and less of a recipe.
Guests dropping in for dinner with very short notice and you wanna make sure, you still whip up a dessert to complete your course. I’m sure you’ve found yourself in this situation often enough. Now, of course ice cream can come to the rescue , Some plain vanilla with choco sauce and nuts can be a winner. But a just lil more effort and you can ensure your guests go Oh Wow. .
So there’s no recipe here. You just need to follow instructions on the packets to make some flowing creamy custard and one packet of jelly. Put the jelly in a rather wide tray to make a thin layer. Let it set in the fridge while you chop up some fruits : apples, bananas, stawberries will be great. Toss them in a bit of icing sugar and cook in a pan over low heat for about 15 mins. Take it off the heat. While you let it cool, mix some yoghurt with honey and keep aside.
And now you can assemble it all together.
Put the fruits in the serving glass first. Top it with a layer of custard. Now while the next layer would typically be fresh cream, you can put the yoghurt. Trust me you feel so good that you opted for something more healthy and less fattening. The guilt of eating dessert goes away instantly. Place the glasses in the fridge. And when it’s time to serve, cut the jelly into shapes using a cookie cutter and place it with extreme dexterity on top of the trifle. (yeah, cutting out the jelly and placing it perfectly is gonna require some patience and a stable hand.) It’s gonna look so good. . . . And there you have the perfect ending to your dinner and your guests can go home talking about your beautiful, delicious dessert. Goodnite!!!!!!!!!!!
