Valentine's day recipes

I'm picking a few of my favourite valentine's day recipes from the blog and putting them up here so you can look at what suits you best. Although anything you bake with love will make your day extra special, these are some ideas that can help you.

If you're looking at having a party for two, and are not a big fan of cake, you could try making this giant double chocolate cookie recipe. It's absolutely no fuss and takes very little time to make. You could jazz it up by serving shards of it with a scoop of your favourite ice cream. Chocolate cookie and ice cream sound like a match in heaven.

If no-bake desserts are your thing, and you feel like a chilled dessert will be the perfect for your romantic meal , try this recipe for no bake ferrero rocher cheesecake . It's not super chocolaty but still has chocolate and it's simple to make. No worrying about getting your baking right and you need just a few ingredients to whip up this extra special dessert.

Go the little extra mile and make this chocolate fudge cake. It's definitely a little more effort, but that frosting has got to be the easiest one ever. Serve it warm with a quenelle of vanilla ice cream and I think you have magic on your plate right there.

You could also try this showstopper of a cake, although it has absolutely no flour in it. This recipe for flourless chocolate cake is tried and tested and is definitely extraordinary in its texture and taste. You may not stop at one piece, I surely couldn't.

And this one is a bake to impress kind of cake. Lava cakes, although very impressive, are fairly easy to make if you follow the instructions carefully. Warm chocolate cakes with gooey chocolate flowing out surely can warm your heart. Find the recipe here.

I'd love to know what recipe you give a go. Leave a comment here or on my Instagram page. Check @chefondutyblog and if you try any of the recipes on this blog, post your pictures and tag me. Happy Valentine's day. Much love, always.
